While the children slept, Mum went into labour with her 4th child at 2am. She had chosen to have a home water birth. I received a text at 3.32am "Hi Jill, baby is on his way"..I jumped out of bed and tried not to speed to the other side of town. I was excited to be part of a special night , after all, how often do you get to witness a new life coming into the world. Lucky I didn't drive to slow because the contractions stop soon after I arrived and the pushing began. It was calm, quiet, the lights were dim... and then baby was here!.. a healthy 9+Ibs. I'm not sure he was that impressed about being out of the confined space of his Mum's snuggly womb. Dad fought back the tears while Mum held her son close against her heart, the familiar sound of her beating heart calming the baby as he tried to force his eyes to open . The dawn started to break and the sun began to rise, it would not be long before the younger siblings were up to welcome their new baby brother.
